I wasn't satisfied with
the factory-issue BMW Z3 mesh windblocker / windscreen / wind deflector /
windstop or other commercially available
options, so I designed this one. The factory mesh windscreen blocked my
view in back, and it whistled at certain speeds. Also, I wanted a larger,
more secure windblocker / windscreen than some of the other commercial options
available. I've used other windscreens that only spanned the gap between
the roll hoops, which still left a considerable amount of turbulence in the
cockpit. I still felt the wind beating me up, especially on long trips, I
couldn't talk audibly on my cell phone, and my wife's hair still whipped
around. Also, most other commercial windscreen use only four points of
attachment, so there was still some rattling going on. I correct both of
these points by using a larger windscreen to block more turbulence, and secure
the windblocker with six points, instead of four.

Options:
There are two sets of options
available, material and satchels. The material option is acrylic or lexan,
and with acrylic windblockers, different tints are available. With both
materials, satchels are available. In considering Acrylic vs. Lexan, our
reinforced acrylic is about 20x stronger than glass, wheras Lexan is 60x
stronger than glass. Both materials are great for windblockers and will
give you years of great service. If you have a specific application where
you need the extra strength for some specific reason, choose the lexan version.
Else, a reinforced acrylic version will certainly serve you well and save you a
bit of money.

This option is for1/4 inch abrasion
resistant Lexan material, which is a virtually indestructible material suitable
for high impact applications, such as bullet resistant windows, boat
windshields, lightweight bicycle gear sprockets, etc. This is
abrasion resistant lexax. Paradoxically, lexan is actually a soft
material, so this specially formulated lexan is designed to resist minor
scruffs and wear. You will come to very much appreciate this
abrasion resistant lexan offered only by Windblox a year after your
purchase.
